The ISSF Training Academy (TA) has specifically developed for use by the ISSF member federations the “D” Course for Regional Coaches.
The course is designed specifically to be conducted as a coaching course in the local language of the region in which it is hosted. The ISSF Training Academy has developed the course in English so that it can be easily translated by the host federation into the local language. Each shooting discipline (Rifle, Pistol & Shotgun) is covered in a three day long course. Both the course material and the powerpoint presentations are supplied by the TA along with a supply of pins, badges and diplomas for the course participants. The courses once completed may also feature in the ISSF News magazine and on the website of the ISSF.
The “D” Course is an ideal way for national federations to start building their own national and regional coaching teams and to place them on the pathway to the international coaching licences “C”, “B” and “A” of the ISSF Training Academy (for more information please click here).
A key element of the course is that is must be conducted with participants from at least three countries who share a common language background. As such it offers the opportunity for friendship between federations and the opportunity to share experiences between participants.
The course lecturers are sourced from the local region and are either “A” Licence holders or “B” Licence holder who have qualified to complete their “A” Licence. The ISSF Training Academy can provide qualified instructors in the English language if translation services can be provided by the host federation.
