First YOG Quota awarded at the Oceania Championship

Four young shooters won the first Shooting Quota Places to enter the 2010 Youth Olympic Games at the Oceania Shooting Championship in Sydney.

The first Quota Places to access the newborn Youth Olympic Games have been awarded at the Oceania Shooting Championship held in Sydney, Australia, from the 23rd of November to the 2 of December.

The four young athletes won the Quota Places for their countries, granting a spot in the first Youth Olympic Games edition that will take place in Singapore next summer from 14 to 26 August 2010.

A total of 3200 young athletes aging between 14 and 18 years will participate in 26 sports at the first Youth Olympic Games edition in Singapore.


Eighty Quota Places are reserved for Shooting Sport, in Men and Women’s Air Pistol and Air Rifle events.


The next YOG Quota Places will be awarded at the 3rd Asian Championship in 10-meter events, that will be take place in Doha (QAT) from 16 to 22 December 2009.
