An interesting "Sport For All" initiative of the German Shooting Sport Federation (DSB) touch-based at the ISSF General Assembly held in London today, in occasion of the "London Prepares" pre-Olympic ISSF World Cup.

The famous German sports mascot "Trimmy" accompanied the delegates of the German Shooting Sport Federation and came with them to the ISSF General Assembly held in London today. It was the very first visit of this congenial mascot in the city of the Olympic Games 2012 advertising "sport for all" concepts in Germany as well as a "weekend of the German shooting clubs" on 6th and 7th of October.

Trimmy was originally invented in the 1970s and was reactivated some years ago by the German Olympic Sports Confederation to give the "sport for all" movement a friendly face. Together with the German Shooting Sport Federation and its nearly 1.4 mio. members, the smiling and thumb-up "Trimmy" now invites the public to find a new hobby by giving the different shooting sport and archery disciplines a try. During the "weekend of the German shooting clubs" beginning of October, several hundreds of clubs will literally open their doors and show their sportive, cultural and social dedication.

Olegario Vázquez Raña, President of the International Shooting Sport Federation and IOC member (right), together with Vice President Sheikh Salman S.S.H. Al Sabah spontaneously joined this campaign after Jörg Brokamp, Secretary General of the German Shooting Sport Federation and member of the ISSF Administrative Council gave a short statement of his Federation's membership development programme.
