10m RT Mixed Men: Josef Nikl senior world champion for the first time

Josef Nikl from Czech Republic won the individual gold medal in the 10m mixed runs event, today at the ISSF World Championship Running Target in Stockholm, Sweden.

With two rounds of 193 points, and an overall result of 386 points, Josef Nikl from Czech Republic won the first gold in the 10m event.

 

This was the 22-year olds first world championship gold as a senior. “It's great. Super great. The result is my new personal record. Shooting was good” he said.

 

Lazlo Boros from Hungary came to the championship hoping for a place in the top ten. After today’s shooting he knows that he will leave Sweden with at least a silver. “It was very fun and very good. I like shoot-off's” he said.

 

Both Boros and Mikhail Azarenko from Russian Republic, had 385 after 20 shots. In the following shoot off Boros scored 19 and Azarenko 18.

 

Azarenko did get a Gold anyway, in the team event with his fellowmen from Russian Republic. Together they scored 1147 points, and won with a margin of 13 points. Silver to Ukraine, 1134 points, and bronze to Czech Republic.
