The qualification rounds of the 10m Air Rifle Men just ended, at the Royal Artillery Barracks Olympic venue.
World’s #1, Italy’s Niccolò “Nicco” Campriani (24) leads the final’s startlist, with 599 points, an equalled Olympic Record. The reigning Wolrd Champion had been the first athlete to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games, among all the sports, back in 2010.
Tied to him, Romania’s Alin George Moldoveanu, 29, a 2005’s World Cup Final Silver medallist, who also ended up the qualifications with 599 points.
Following in third place, India’s recordmen, Gagan Narang, 29, who was announced to be a protagonist of this competition.
The reingning Olympic Champion, India’s first Olympic Gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, closed his qualifications in 16th place, with an overall score of 594 points, 2 points far from the final.
The final match will start at 12.15, London time.
