On 12 and 13 November 2012 the ISSF Executive Committee and the ISSF Administrative Council met for their second meetings this year in Acapulco, MEX. These meetings dealt with the completion of the Technical Rules for the next Olympic Cycle 2013 to 2016. During these very important meetings the detailed rules for the Finals in all Olympic Events as of 1 January 2013 were discussed and finalized. Many discussions with athletes and coaches regarding the new rules helped to develop excellent solutions and some compromises that will help the shooting sport move forward in reaching one of his goals in becoming a more spectator and media friendly sport. We are very pleased that all decisions to approve the new technical and Finals rules were unanimous. This once again shows that the shooting sport is united and works for the benefit of the sport and the Olympic Movement.
The new rules will be published in the next days on the ISSF website and ISSF looks forward to using the new rules in all 2013 Championships.
On occasion of these meetings, the ISSF President, Mr. Olegario Vazquez Rana, who is also an IOC Member, had the great honor to award in the name of IOC President Jacques Rogge the IOC Olympic Order to Mr. Gary Anderson, ISSF Vice-President for his outstanding support of the Olympic Movement. The ISSF sends once again our sincere congratulations to Mr. Anderson.
We are looking forward to another successful series of ISSF Championships in 2013 as we begin the new Olympic Cycle.

Los días 12 y 13 de noviembre de 2012, el Comité Ejecutivo y el Consejo Administrativo de la ISSF se reunieron por segunda ocasión este año, esta vez en Acapulco, MEX. En estas reuniones se completaron los Reglamentos Técnicos para el ciclo Olímpico 2013-2016. Además se discutieron y finalizaron las reglas detalladas para las Finales en todos los eventos Olímpicos que entrarán en vigor a partir del 1 de enero de 2013. Un sinfín de discusiones con atletas y entrenadores ayudaron a desarrollar excelentes soluciones y acuerdos que ayudarán el Tiro Deportivo a seguir progresando y a alcanzar una de sus metas que es convertirse en un deporte más atractivo para los espectadores y los medios. Nos complace anunciar que todas los votos aprobando las nuevas Reglas Técnicas y de Finales fueron unánimes, lo cual demuestra una vez más que el tiro deportivo trabaja unido para beneficio del deporte y del Movimiento Olímpico.
Las nuevas reglas serán publicadas muy pronto en el sitio de la ISSF y sentimos un gran entusiasmo por empezar a usarlas en todos los Campeonatos del 2013.
Durante una de estas reuniones, el Presidente de la ISSF el señor Olegario Vázquez Raña, que además es Miembro del COI, tuvo el honor de presentar, a nombre del Presidente del COI el Dr. Jacques Rogge, la Orden Olímpica de Honor al Sr. Gary Anderson, Vicepresidente de la ISSF, por su apoyo sobresaliente al Movimiento Olímpico. La ISSF felicita sinceramente al señor Anderson.
Esperamos ansiosos empezar otra serie de Campeonatos de la ISSF en 2013, iniciando el nuevo ciclo Olímpico.
