Finals 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women

Spotlight on Youth - Li Pejing: the (perfect) Chinese Team can count on an economist

ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol · Munich, GER

“Happy, relaxing and funny”: that's how the shooter – and student - Li Pejing described her Team, which has already won 7 medals at the Munich World Cup.

The Munich World Cup is not over yet, - still one day left – but the Chinese Team can be actually glad about its results: 7 medals out of 8 events.
2
golds: a man (Yang Haoran - Men's 10m Air Rifle) and a woman (Yuan Jing - 25m Pistol). 5 silvers: 2 men (Mai Jiajie - 50m Pistol – and Zhang Fusheng - 25m Rapid Fire Pistol) and 3 women (Chang Jing - 10m Air Rifle - , Zhang Jingjing - 25m Pistol - and Ma Hong - Rifle 3 Positions). Not so bad.

China's
Li Pejing talked about the group she's part of: “Our team is just happy, relaxing and funny”, said the 24-year-old shooter. Words of appreciation which confirm the feelings expressed by Yang Haoran (“I feel like home”) and Zhang Fusheng (“I love it!”) in the past days. And – believe it or not – the secret of the so beloved Chinese team is “hard work” - as explained Li Pejing. “We train a lot, that's all we do.”
Work is fun: quite an impressive attitude - definitely helped by a great team spirit: the members of the group - during this World Cup - would always meet in a big cooking place to have dinner all together in the Munich campus. Having what? Chinese food, of course.

In spite of the trainings (and the Chinese food), Li Pejing came 5th at this morning's Rifle 3 Positions final – no matter her 52.1 5th series highest score. “I'm not fine with my performance, – she said – of course everybody wants to win. Now I'll go back to China and just try my best.” Inside and outside the shooting range: “I'm a college student, – continued Li – I'm studying Economics.” As much brain as brawn: not only sports, but culture as well.

Lots of things to do - for the young Li - but that's not a problem: remember the Chinese Team motto?
