Designers and creative people will be able to take part in the Nanjing 2014 Medal Design Competition by submitting their projects via the website (
medaldesigncompetition.com)
until 30 November 2013.
A winning design and two runners-up will be selected on December 11 in Lausanne, by an IOC judging panel featuring - other than sports names - Thomas Heatherwick, an English designer who had realized the London 2012 cauldron, which was used for the Olympic flame. The results will be publicly announced on December 20.
The victorious design will finally make it to the front of all the medals to be awarded in Nanjing during the Youth Olympics (16 to 28 August 2014), which will host a 6-event Shooting program. Plus, the author of the winning design will win a trip to Nanjing 2014 - tickets to the Opening Ceremony and a special edition collection of medals (featuring their design) included.
