Registrations for the 2015 FITAV Summer Camps in Italy are open

The second edition of the italian camp will be held again at TAV Umbriaverde in Massa Martana, Perugia, where young shooters from all over the world are expected to spend one or two weeks between June and July.

Last year, forty-four kids arrived from all five continents and represented eleven countries, making the first edition of the FITAV Summer Camps an unexpected success.

Now, registrations are open for the second edition of the camp, scheduled for the two weeks between June 24th and July 8th, and addressed to kids between 10 and 20 years old. Subscibers will be free to choose between a single-week and a two-weeks package, with both of them including lots of commodities, activities and english and italian classes for both local and foreign kids. At the end of each week an award named FITAV Summer Camps Trophywill be assigned for each category: Trap, Skeet, Double Trap and also Compak, an extra activity added this year following the high number of requests.

In 2014, our greatest success has been the bonding between boys and girls coming from anywhere in the world” said Diego Gasperini, technical director of the camp and an italian A level international coach currently working for the italian military NT and for the Cyprus NT “We know for sure that a lot of them kept in touch through Facebook, even if their level of english was not so good…”

Shooting sport activities during the camp will be held daily, with at least 75 clay targets per participant thrown everyday. Like last year, there will be three different course levels: beginner, medium and high, and the kids will be assigned to one of them depending on their initial level of skills. Athletic and mental training are also fundamental parts of the program, in order to give the young athletes a proper knowledge in every aspect of the shooting sport.

Almost 70% of last year’s kids already confirmed their presence for next summer” said Gasperini “Anyway, there is no shortage of space, as we planned to bring on one additional coach for every ten registrations.”

The FITAV Summer Camps will be supported by the Italian Federation for the second consecutive year, laying the foundation for something that can become a flagship for the junior shooting sport world in the years to come. The camp is an idea of Luisa and Tatiana Recinella and Eros Scarpino, founders of an italian shooting sport association named after Leandro Recinella, a late italian shotgun athlete.
