Pejcic (CRO) and Yaskevich (RUS) win the SIUS Champions Trophy in Munich

ISSF World Cup Final Rifle / Pistol · Munich, GER

The traditional trophy sponsored by SIUS closed this year's ISSF World Cup Final in Munich

Following a long-lasting tradition, it was the SIUS Champions Trophy that officially closed the ISSF World Cup Final held in Munich, today.

The unofficial competition brings the very best athletes on the shooting line: only the ISSF World Cup Final medallists are eligible to participate in the two Champions Trophies, the 10m Air Pistol and 10m Air Rifle mixed knock-out rounds.

The formula of the Trophy is well-known: after four competition shots, the participant with the lowest score is eliminated, and from there on, one shot after the other, the shooter with the lowest total has to leave the match. When only two athletes are left on the line, the total goes back to zero: the match turns into a duel, and three shots are fired to decide the winner.

The 2008 Olympic bronze medallist Snjezana Pejcic of Croatia – who had finished on the podium at the women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions final earlier today - secured the air rifle trophy, beating Serbia's Milutin Stefanovic 31.0 to 30.5 points in the final duel.

Two Russian teammates duelled in the air pistol events, where Liubov Yaskevich beat Leonid Ekimov 31.0 to 29.5 points to secure the Pistol Champions Trophy.

The two winners were awarded 5.000,00 Euro each, sponsored by the SIUS company, the official ISSF results provider that has a long tradition in supporting our sport.
