Dates of the 2016 ISSF season unveiled

The season will kick-off in Bangkok (THA), on March 1st, where the first stage of the World Cup will take place, and it will close in Italy with the two World Cup Finals, scheduled in Bologna and Rome in October.

The 2016 season will be a packed one for the International Shooting Sport Federation, with eleven competitions scheduled form March to October: six World Cup stages, two World Cup Finals, two Junior Cups and the World Championship in Running Target events.

 

A few days after the closing of the 2015 shooting sport calendar, the dates of all the competitions have been made official.

 

March 1st - March 9th: ISSF World Cup in Rifle/Pistol, Bangkok (THA)

March 17th - March 25th: ISSF World Cup in Shotgun, Nicosia (CYP)

April 13th - April 25th: ISSF World Cup in Rifle/Pistol and Shotgun, Rio de Janeiro (BRA)

April 29th - May 6th: ISSF Junior Cup in Rifle/Pistol and Shotgun, Suhl (GER)

May 19th - May 26th: ISSF World Cup in Rifle/Pistol, Munich (GER)

June 1st - June 11th: ISSF World Cup in Shotgun, San Marino (SMR)

June 20th - June 29th: ISSF World Cup in Rifle/Pistol and Shotgun, Baku (AZE)

July 15th - July 23rd: ISSF World Championship in Running Target, Suhl (GER)

September 16th - September 23rd: ISSF Junior Cup in Rifle/Pistol and Shotgun, Gabala (AZE)

October 4th - October 10th: ISSF World Cup Final in Rifle/Pistol, Bologna (ITA)

October 11th - October 16th: ISSF World Cup Final in Shotgun, Rome (ITA)

 

In addition to its calendar, the ISSF will also rule the fifteen Shooting sport events at the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro (BRA), scheduled form August 5th to August 21st. Shooting events will take place at the Olympic Shooting Centre, inside the Deodoro Park, from August 6th to August 14th.
