Four 10m Running Target events kicked off today at the ISSF World Championship in Suhl

Men, Men Junior, Women and Women Junior athletes all fired their Slow Run series, while the Fast Run series and the medal matches are expected to take place tomorrow.

The four 10m Running Target events of the ISSF World Championship in Suhl (GER) started today with the Slow Run phases.

 

In the Men category Sweden’s Emil Martinsson, yesterday’s Gold medallist in the 50m Running Target Mixed event, finished atop the standings with 293 points, followed by Poland’s Lukasz Czapla and by Finland’s Tomi-Pekka Heikkila, who lost two shoot-offs for the Bronze medal in both 50m events.

 

In the Men Junior event another of yesterday’s medallists placed in 1st position at the end of the Slow Run: Indeed, Maksym Babushok of the Ukraine, Silver medallist in the 50m Running Target Mixed event, scored 290 points, two more than Russian shooter Iaroslav Klepikov, Finland’s Mika Heikkila and Ihor Kizyma, also of the Ukraine.

 

The Women event saw another Ukrainian athlete finish on top of the table, as Liudmyla Vasylyuk scored 193 points and preceded two Chinese junior shooters: Zhao Li Li, 2nd with 192, and Yang Zeng, 3rd with 191.

 

The fourth event of today’s program, the Women Junior, concluded its Slow Run phase with People’s Republic of China’s Ke Luqi in 1st place, followed by Ukraine’s Viktoriia Stetsiura in 2nd. Both shooters totalled 188 points. Florence Louis of France placed in 3rd position with 186 Slow Run points.

 

The ISSF Running Target World Championship will continue tomorrow with the Slow Run part of the events and the four medal matches: the 10m Running Target Men, scheduled at 2:00 PM (UTC+2); the 10m Running Target Men Junior, scheduled at 2:30 PM; the 10m Running Target Women, scheduled at 3:00 PM; and the 10m Running Target Women Junior, scheduled at 3:30 PM.

 

All the four medal matches will be streamed live on the ISSF website and on the Federation’s Livestream channel.
