ISSF World Cup Finals to highlight the upcoming Olympic Channel schedule

The two conclusive competitions of the 2016 season will be streamed live on the recently-launched Olympic media platform, who’s going to present 35 events in partnership with 10 International Federations.

On August 21st, the day the Closing Ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games took place, the IOC launched the Olympic Channel, a digital-first global media entity that aims to spread the Olympic Movement and its values. All year round, especially in the periods between the Olympic Games.

The Olympic Channel offers on-demand content available across the web, mobile, tablet and other connected devices, where fans can experience the power of sport 24 hours per day, every day of the year. Moreover, users will also be able to access contents through a number of social media platforms as part of the olympic Channel network.

In 2016 the Olympic Channel will cover live more than 35 events in partnership with 10 International Federations, with the International Shooting Sport Federation being a substantial part of the schedule.

From the 6th to the 9th of October, indeed, the ISSF World Cup Final in Rifle/Pistol events will be streamed live on the platform, followed a few days later by the ISSF World Cup Final in Shotgun events, the conclusive competition of the 2016 ISSF season, scheduled from October 13th to October 15th.

“We look forward to working with our IF partners to help distribute their events and extend their reach to fans around the world. Placing a spotlight on Olympic sports and athletes outside of the Games themselves is one of the key priorities of the Olympic Channel,” said Mark Parkman, General Manager of the Olympic Channel. “Launching the Channel with this event programming already in place ensures that fans will be able to continue their excitement of Rio and the Olympic Games all year long.”
