Singapore Shooting Association host the 33rd ISSF D Licence Course for Coaches

Another successful course has been hosted in Singapore from October 3rd to October 5th.

The Singapore Shooting Association hosted their second ISSF D Licence Course for Coaches at the Republic Polytechnic between the 3rd and the 5th October. This course marked the progress of the SSA in adopting the ISSF D Licence as their national licence qualification for the Olympic Shooting disciplines.

 

The course was conducted by ISSF Academy tutor Dr. Kevin Kilty who spoke highly of the course participants and the organisation. “The Singapore Shooting Association have adopted the D licence course as their national licence programme and I am delighted to see this happen. It fits in perfectly with the overall aim of the D course which is to promote and establish a locally and internationally recognised qualification for our member federations.” 

 

A total of 25 participants took part in the course. Whilst the majority of participants where from Singapore the course also saw participants from Malaysia and Thailand attend to make the course a truly regional experience for all. Dr. Kilty took the participants through a detailed explanation of the shooting technique and concluded with lectures on planning and physical training.

 

Mr. Michael Vas, President of the Singapore Shooting Federation said of the course, “We are delighted with the ISSF D course as it has brought very positive changes to our way of coaching and we are already seeing the benefits from the first course we hosted earlier this year in rifle and pistol. With this first D course for shotgun we have adopted the ISSF D licence as our chosen qualification for recognition as a coach.”
