ISSF World Cup in Acapulco: day 4 preview

The Double Trap Men final will be third event delivering its medal at the Club de Caza, Tiro y Pesca de Acapulco, where the second stage of the 2017 ISSF World Cup Series is currently taking places.

Midway through the second ISSF World Cup stage of the season, it is time for the men’s Double Trap Men shooters to crush their targets, in order to climb on the second podium of season in this event.

 

The three medalist of the first stage, held in New Delhi (IND) between February and March, will all compete for a second consecutive placement on the World Cup podium: 21-year-old James Willett of Australia, who claimed the first Gold medal of the season, Ankur Mittal (24) of India, who followed him in 2nd place, and 18-year-old James Dedman of Great Britain, who finished on the podium in his third career World Cup appearance.

 

Italy’s Alessandro Chianese (26) will try to best the 5th place he nailed in New Delhi (IND), looking for what would be the second ISSF World Cup medal of his career, after the Gold he claimed in Nicosia (CYP) in 2016. The Italian flag will also be carried by 21-year-old Ignazio Maria Tronca, appearing for the first time in an ISSF World Cup stage, and 22-year-old Andrea Vescovi, Junior World Champion in Granada (ESP) in 2014.

 

Mexico will then be represented by 16-year-old Jorge Martin Orozco Diaz, one of the youngest participants in this competition, and by Alberto Hernandez Tovar (42). Even younger than Orozco Diaz will be Mittal’s teammate Shapath Bharadwaj, born on January 2nd, 2002.
