Numbers of the 2017 ISSF World Cup Series

Halfway through the season, it’s time to look at what happened in the past four months.

Among these five competitions, the one with the highest participation was the ISSF World Cup Stage 4 in Munich, where 753 athletes represented 80 nations and piled up 1274 starts, followed by the first stage of the season, held in New Delhi, with 447 athletes, 50 countries and 580 starts.

 

203 athletes from 33 nations and 210 starts animated the competition scheduled in Acapulco, followed a few weeks later by the one held in Larnaka, where 420 shooters represented 60 flags and collected 426 starts.

 

Finally, the fifth and conclusive stage of the Series, which took place in Gabala earlier this month, saw 411 athletes compete for 44 NOCs and pile up 732 starts.

 

Among the many participants, Bangladesh’s Amira Hamid has been the youngest one, competing in the women’s 10m Air Rifle MQS in New Delhi, while Canadian women’s Trap shooter and six-time Olympian Susan Nattrass has been the oldest one.

 

Among the medal winners, Islamic Republic of Iran’s 15-year-old Armina Sadeghian has been the youngest one to climb on the World Cup podium pocketing the Bronze medal in the women’s 10m Air Rifle final; also in Munich, Portugal’s Joao Costa became the oldest medalist of the 2017 ISSF World Cup Series by claiming Silver at 52 years old in the men’s 50m Pistol match.
