Panama hosts ISSF Academy D-Course

28 participants representing 4 nations met at the D-Course organized in Panama City from 28th to 30th August, 2017.

The 45th Olympic Solidarity ISSF Academy D-Course for pistol, rifle and shotgun coaches was conducted in Panama City, Panama from 28th to 30th August, 2017. 

The Panama Olympic Committee hosted 28 successful participants from Panama, Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico.  

The ISSF D-Course Tutors were Lisa Borgerson (Pistol) from Canada, Anne Grethe Jeppesen (Rifle) from Norway, and Alfredo Ortis Torrez (Shotgun) from Puerto Rico.  The course was conducted in English with Spanish translation.  

“Meeting coaches from Panama, Guatemala, Mexico and Colombia has been great.  I have tremendous respect for them and the work that they do.  It is my sincere hope they will succeed in their efforts to bring the ISSF shooting to an even higher level in their countries”, said Anne Grethe Jeppesen (Rifle tutor from Norway).

“My time here was really exciting.  I had a wonderful time with the participants of all disciplines.  They were very polite and very nice to talk to”, said Alfredo Ortiz Torrez (Shotgun tutor from Puerto Rico).

“I feel honoured to have been part of this process to support participants from 4 different countries who came together and who were eager to further their goals and knowledge in sport shooting”, said Lisa Borgerson (Pistol tutor from Canada).
