Bisham, England hosted 59th ISSF Academy D-Course

The course took place at the Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre from January 4th to January 6th. More than 20 aspiring male and female coaches participated.

British Shooting recently hosted the 59th ISSF D-Course for Regional Coaches. The course was held at the Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre in Bisham, England, from the 4th to the 6th of January and it involved a class of more than 20 aspiring coaches.

Dean Leak, the British Shooting Pathway Manager, said: “ISSF courses are an important part of the technical development of our coaches. The D-Course, in particular, is a very good start to the British Shooting Skills Coach’s development programme.”

This sentiment was echoed by the delegates who suggested that the D-Course provided the essential technical shooting knowledge and insights in to some of the other skills needed to create dynamic and innovative learning environments.

Course tutor Mr. Christian Schofield thanked the delegates for their enthusiasm and for sharing their knowledge. Mr. Schofield commented “It was really good to see a community of practice forming during the course,”  also adding that he hopes the delegates would continue to share their thoughts and ideas as the training year unfolds.
