Sydney’s medal standings

The People’s Republic of China won seven medals, placing in first in the overall medal standings of this ISSF World Cup. Korea and USA followed in second and third place.

The first 2010 ISSF World Cup Stage in Rifle and Pistol events was closed today in Sydney, Australia. Here, athletes coming from all over the world competed in the ten Olympic events of Rifle and Pistol shooting from the 20th through the 27th of March.

The competition, which was held at the 2000 Olympic Shooting Range of Sydney, saw the success of the Chinese team, that finished in first in the overall medal standings with four Gold, one Silver and two Bronze medals, for a total of seven awards.

The Korean team followed in second place, claiming two Gold, one Silver and Bronze medals. The USA’s shooting team also secured four medals: one Gold, one Silver and two Bronzes, taking the third spot on the overall medal standings of the World Cup stage.

The next appointment with the ISSF World Cup Series is set for April when, from the16th through the 25th, Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun shooters will meet at the 2008 Olympic Shooting Range of Beijing to participate in a combined World Cup Stage.
