Shooting goes Green: International Environment Conference in Lonato

Environmental and Security rules were the topics of today’s International conference organized by FITAV, which was held at the Trap Conca Verde shooting club.

As the third 2010 ISSF Shotgun World Cup stage is taking place at the Trap Conca Verde club in Lonato (Italy) the Italian Shotgun Shooting Federation FITAV organized an International Conference dealing with the future of the Shooting Sport in relation to environmental and security issues. Several national and international authorities, companies and experts met here to discuss environmental topics connect with the shooting sport, such as pollution, lead collection, acoustic barriers and safety rules, presenting new technological solutions for the future of our sport, and debating about the latest international safety regulations.

“We have to face the challenge of making our sport more and more environmental friendly” Said the ISSF Vice President Luciano Rossi, hosting the conference as President of the Italian Shotgun Federation and as member of the Italian Parliament “We tried to seat authorities, experts and companies around the same table here in Lonato because we want to be ready to undertake our responsibilities in terms of environment, and at the same time to let our voice to be heard.”

“We are organizing this conference from year to year here in Italy, in order to rise up the international attention on these problems and on the possible solutions. – Continued Mr. Luciano Rossi, while closing the conference - We hope that more and more members of the shooting family will join us on this path: working all together, we can keep on building a bright future for our sport.”
