Four ISSF Vice-Presidents elected by the General Assembly

Three ISSF Vice-Presidents were confirmed in their positions, and a new Vice-President was elected during today’s ISSF General Assembly, taking place in Munich in occasion of the 50th ISSF World Championship in all shooting events.

Sheikh Salman S.S.H. Al Sabah (KUW), the President of the Asian Shooting Confederation, become the new ISSF Vice-President. The ISSF General Assembly expressed its preference electing Sheikh Al Sabah with a total of 238 votes “Dear colleagues thanks for your support. – Said Sheik Al Sabah right after the ballot – I promise you that I will give my best to promote our sport and to work in favour of our athletes!”

 

Mr Luciano Rossi (ITA), the President of the Italian Clay Shooting Federation FITAV, was the most voted of the re-elected ISSF Vice-Presidents. The General Assembly confirmed his mandate for another term with a total of 217 votes “I would like to thank you all, dear friends and colleagues – Said Mr Rossi – I will work to support our sport and our athletes, and I am sure that if we will keep on collaborating under the guidance of our President Vazquez Raña and our Secretary General Schreiber, we will grant a bright future to our sport!”

 

Mr Gary Anderson (USA), the President of USA Shooting, was also re-elected in the position of ISSF Vice-President, starting a new mandate with a total of 190 preferences “Dear Members and Delegates, I accept the mandate with gratitude and commitment – said Mr Anderson – and I promise you that I will work as hard as I can in favour of the shooting sport, and that I will be devoted to our shooting family. Thank you!”

 

Mr Medhat Wahdan (EGY), one of the four ISSF Vice-President serving during the previous term, was re-elected with 176 votes “Dear colleagues, thank you very much for your great support – said Mr Wahdan from the podium of the General Assembly - I promise that I will continue to give my best to support our beloved sport!”

 

Mr Vladimir Lisin (RUS), the President of the European Shooting Sport Confederation, the fifth candidate for the ISSF Vice-Presidency, received 92 votes and was not elected.

 

Mrs Unni Nicolaysen of Norway, who had been serving the ISSF as Vice President form 1994 to 2010, resigned this year, and did not run for another term. The ISSF General Assembly elected her as ISSF Honorary Member by acclamation, the highest honour within the shooting family.
