USA atop of the medal standings

ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol / Shotgun · Sydney, AUS

China followed in second, while the Pistol world champion Matsuda lifted Japan in third by winning two Gold medals

The United States of America finished atop of the medal standings with 3 Gold and 3 Silver medals, at the 2011 ISSF Combined World Cup in Sydney, Australia, which was closed today.

 

Fifteen shooting competitions (Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun events) were conducted during this World Cup Stage, taking place between the 21st and the 31st of March.

 

The People’s Republic of China finished in second, with 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 5 Bronze medals.


Team Japan closed the World Cup in third place, with two Gold medals, both won by their flag bearer Tomoyuki Matsuda, a two-time world champion. The Pistol shooter, who survived to a terrible earthquake just three weeks ago, won both the 10m and the 50m Pistol events, dedicating the medals to his wounded homeland.
