Kostevych-led Ukraine finished atop of the medal standings, followed by Czech Republic and Germany. The ISSF World Cup in Milan was closed today, and the World Cup Series moves now on to Munich.
The 50m Rifle Prone Men event closed the 2012 ISSF Rifle & Pistol World Cup Stage in Milan, the second step of this year’s series. Ukraine places atop of the medal standings, with two Gold medals won by the 2004 Pistol Olympic Champion Olena Kostevych, who triumphed both in the 10m Air Pistol and in the 25m Pistol Women events. The Czech Republic, followed in second place, with one Gold and three Silver medals, also thanks to its women shooters, the Rifle ace Katerina Emmons and the Pistol Olympic medallist Maruskova. Germany followed in third place, making it to the top-3 of the overall medal standings with one Gold, two Silver and one Bronze, for a total of four awards. The home shooters brought Italy in fourth place, with one Gold, one Silver and two Bronze medals, thanks to Niccolò Campriani (rifle), and to Giuseppe Giordano (pistol) and Marco De Nicolo (rifle) who won two medals on the last competition day.
The ISSF World Cup Series moves now on to Munich, the home of Rifle & Pistol Shooting. There, the last ISSF World Cup Stage of the year will be hosted at the 1972 Olympic Shooting Range, where the best shooters of the world will meet in the last world-class match before the Olympic Games.
