China finished atop of the medal standings, followed by Korea and Serbia. The champions are peaking on their road to the Olympics, and the ISSF World Cup Series turned out to be a great sport meeting before the London Games.
The victory of Niccolò Campriani in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men event concluded the ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup in Munich, which was held at the 1972 Olympic Shooting Range of the Bavarian capital from the 21st to the 27th of May.
It was the People’s Republic of China that finished atop of the overall medal standings, with four Gold and two Silver medals, for a total of six awards. Korea followed in second place, with two Gold medals and one Bronze, while it was Serbia which placed in third, with one Gold and three Silver medals gained on Munich’s lines.
“The ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup in Munich has been an excellent match.” The ISSF Vice President and Technical Delegate for this event, Mr. Gary Anderson of USA, said.
“The German host did an excellent job as always, providing perfect venues and skilled personnel. The new ISSF Corporate Identity Guidelines were followed to outfit the final range, and I would say that this is one of the best final range outfitting we have ever had since the World Cup exist.” Mr. Aderson added.
“We recorded some excellent results here in Munich. The shooters are peaking on their road to the Games, and once again the ISSF World Cup Series turned out to be a great chance for them to meet and prepare for the Olympics.”
