Double Trap Men

Double Trap Men preview: UK’s Wilson leads first two rounds

XXX Olympic Games · London, GBR

The home shooter Peter Wilson leads the qualifications, when only one round is left to go. The medal match is going to take place this afternoon, at 3 PM

After the first qualification rounds, the home shooter Peter Wilson is leading the Double Trap Men event, with 96 hits out of 100 targets. Supported by a crowd of local spectators, the 25-year old, 2-meter tall shooter looks completely confident, in spite of the breeze blowing on the range and affecting the targets.

Ranked third in the world, the shooter from Dorset won this year’s ISSF World Cup Stage in Tucson (USA) with 198 hits, setting a new Final World Record.

Following him, Kuwait Fehaid Aldeehani is ranked in second with 94 hits, while two shooters rank in third with a tie score of 93 hits: Richard Bognar of Hungary, and Vassily Mosin of Russia.

The current Olympic Champion, the USA’s Walton Glenn Eller, struggled in the first two series, and currently ranks in 19th, while World’s #1 Joshua Richmond ranks in 17th with 86 targets.

One more qualification series is left to go. The final match will take place at 3 PM, this afternoon. Follow the match at www.london2012.com and www.issf-sports.org
