2004 Olympic Champ Zhu clinched Air Rifle World Cup trophy by 0.3

The 2004 Olympic Champion Zhu Qinan came back atop of the international rankings in Bangkok, Thailand, where he won the 10m Air Rifle Men final, the last medal match of the 2012 ISSF World Cup Final.

Zhu shot all the competition neck and neck with Israel’s Sergey Richter and Russia’s Serguei Kruglov. The three shooters made it to the final match tied in the lead, with a qualification score of 598 points.

 

During the final match, every tenths count. And Zhu turned out to be one of the most accurate finalists. With 102.8 points, he beat Richter (who scored 102.5 points) and Kruglov (who marked 101.4 points), climbing up in the lead.

 

The Chinese champion totalized 700.8 points, securing his fourth ISSF World Cup Final trophy. Following him, Richter pocketed the Silver medal with 700.5 points, while Kruglov ended up in third palce with 699.4 points.

 

The 2012 Olympic Champion, the Romenian shooter Alin George Moldoveanu, finished in fourth, with an overall score of 699.2 (597+102.2) points, just 0.2 shy of stepping upon the podium.
