2013 ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Final's medals and records

ISSF World Cup Final Rifle / Pistol · Munich, GER

The People's Republic of China won the highest number of medals at the 2013 ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Final in Munich, Germany, the closing match of this year's ISSF World Cup Series. Italy and Germany followed in second and third place.

The ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Final, which was officially closed in Munich today, concluded the 2013 ISSF World Cup Series.

Some 1105 athletes competed in this year's ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Series, including participants of 86 different countries. Over 3200 starts were recorded in the four Rifle and Pistol World Cup Stages, held in Changwon (KOR), Fort Benning (USA), Munich (GER) and Granada (ESP).

Only the best 83 shooters coming from 30 countries were selected to participate in this year's ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Final in Munich, Germany, where they met the title defenders on the lines of the 1972 Olympic Shooting Range.

The host country, thanks to the Gold medal won by Junghaenel at today's 50m Rifle Prone event, finished on the third step of the podium, with a total of 1 Gold and 2 Bronze medals. At the same time, it was the People's Republic of China that finished atop of the medal standings, with an impressive number of 9 medals out of 10 events. Chinese athletes secured 4 Gold medals, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze, beating Italy which finished in second place with 3 Gold medals and 1 Bronze.

Time to rest, now. But the calendar for the next year is already defined, and after a short winter break Rifle and Pistol shooters will be back on training. Time is running fast: the first 2014 ISSF World Cup Stage will take place in Fort Benning, USA, next March.
