ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol · Munich, GER

After winning two Silver and one Gold medals in Changwon and Fort Bennig, Antoaneta Boneva finished again atop of the ISSF podium at today's 10m Air Pistol Women event at the ISSF World Cup in Munich, Germany.

Bulgaria's Antoaneta Boneva nailed another world cup medal, in Munich, today.

The 29-year old shooter won the 10m Air Pistol Women event at the ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup in Munich, beating Serbia's Bobana Velickovic 200.6 to 198.2 points.

Boneva is probably the best Pistol Women shooter of the world, right now. The Bulgarian athlete started-off the 2015 season with a 25m Pistol Women Bronze medal in Changwon, and then finished twice on Fort Benning's podium, winning the 10m Air Pistol Women Gold and then a 25m Pistol Women Silver.

Here in Munich, competing in the third Rifle and Pistol World Cup Stage, she made it once again to the 25m Pistol Women final – finishing in fourth – before claiming today's Air Pistol Gold.

“I am so happy about this medal, this has been a great season for me, I have been on the podium at all three world cups conducted so far.” She said after today's final.

“This match has been a little bit easier than the 25m Pistol Women final of a couple of days ago. Of course, there's always a lot of pressure, but I was more confident today. This is my event.”

“I am working hard to be ready for the European Games and then for next year's Olympics. Rio will be different than London. I have changed a lot since 2012, I have a three-year old daughter now, and that changed me and the way I approach to the sport.”

“I love the shooting sport. It's all about concentration and discipline. Discipline is probably the keyword of this sport.” Boneva added.

Today, the Bulgarian athlete beat Serbia's first-time world cup medallist Bobana Velickovic (25), ranked 29th in the world, who placed in second with 198.2 points securing an Olympic quota place after fighting against Russia's Liubov Yaskevic (30).

Yaskevic, who had won Gold at the first world cup stage of the season in Changwon, took today's Bronze with 177.4 points, preceding two Olympic champions: China's Guo Wenjun (fourth and Olympic quota place winner with 157.9 points) and Ukraine's Olena Kostevych (fifth with 137.1 points).

The third Rio 2016 Quota place up for grabs at today's final went to USA's Lydia Paterson, who took the 8th place with a score of 76.0 points.
