800 athletes from 92 countries to compete in the 2015 ISSF Shotgun World Championship in Lonato (ITA)

Ten Olympic Quota places will be awarded in Trap, Skeet and Double Trap shotgun shooting events during the championship.

The 2015 ISSF Shotgun World Championship will take place in Lonato, Italy, on the shores of the Garda lake, starting on September 9th and ending on September 18th.

Some 800 athletes coming from 92 countries will compete there in the five Olympic shotgun events: Trap Men, Trap Women, Double Trap Men, Skeet Men and Skeet Women.

In addition, Junior finals will be conducted to offer an occasion to young athletes to compete in a dedicated age class.

The first medal match of the championship is due on Friday, September the 11th, when the Trap Women and the Trap Women Junior will assign the first awards. On Saturday the 12th, Trap Men and Trap Men Junior finals will be conducted. Sunday 13th will see the second women event awarding Gold medals, as the Skeet Women and Skeet Women Junior finals are scheduled in the afternoon. The following week, Double Trap Men senior and junior shooters will compete on Monday 14th, while the last events -the Skeet Men and Skeet Men Junior finals - are going to be held on Thursday 17th.

10 quota places for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will also be awarded during the championship: 2 for each senior event.

The Opening Ceremony of the 2015 ISSF Shotgun World Championship will take place on September 10 at the Trap Conca Verde Shooting Club in Lonato, Italy, at 17:30 (GMT+2).
