#RoadToRio: interview with Alessandra and Arianna Perilli

The two Sammarinese sisters will compete in the Trap Women event at Rio 2016. It will be their first time together at the Olympics.

The Games of the XXXI Olympiad i Rio de Janeiro will mark an historic milestone for the small european republic of San Marino. A country where shooting is the most popular sport alongside football.


The Olympic representative, indeed, will include two cheerful sisters, Alessandra and Arianna Perilli, respectively 28 and 38 years old, both competing in the Trap Women event.


The two sisters earned their own Olympic quota places during the 2015 season: Alessandra iat the ISSF World Cup stage in Al Ain (UAE), where she secured the Trap Women Silver medal; Arianna, instead, pocketed her slot for Rio 2016 at the first edition of the European Games, held in Baku (AZE) in June 2015, where she finished in 2nd position.


The Rio 2016 Olympic Games will mark Alessandra’s second participation to an Olympiad, as she finished 4th in the Trap Women event in London four years ago. Her older sister Arianna, instead, will make her debut at the Games.

The Trap Women event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 7th, with the semifinals taking place at 3:00 PM (UTC-3).
