Panamerican fiesta in Lima started!

The 18th Panamerican Games in the Peruvian capital Lima started. The shooting competitions that include all 15 Olympic events have gathered 250 athletes from 26 countries of the continent. Besides medals and titles they will try to win Quota places for Tokyo-2020 Olympic Games - two in each of 12 individual events.
The first two Quotas went to Laina Perez from Cuba and Andrea Perez from Ecuador who, respectively, won gold and silver in 10m Air Pistol Women - the first event in the shooting program.
The ISSF President Vladimir Lisin visited the new Las Palmas shooting range. He also held a meeting with leaders of the Confederacion Americana de Tiro and Presidents of participating National Federations.
