A bright day in Rio de Janeiro!

3 events and 6 Quotas - the ISSF Rifle/Pistol World Cup in Rio de Janeiro continued with finals in three events.

In a dramatic first Final of the day victory came with the final shot in 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men when the Gold medal was won by Petar Gorsa from Croatia.

Silver medal went to Sanjeev Rajput from India, who also won an Olympic Quota for Tokyo 2020, on a day celebrated in his home country as a National Sports Day.

Changhong Zhang from the People’s Republic of China finished in the 3rd place.

Simon Claussen from Norway won the other available Olympic Quota after finishing the final in the 4th place.

Before the start of the 25m Pistol Women Final, the 2 Olympic Quotas available in this event, went to Yaxuan Xiong from the People’s Republic of China and to Jangmi Kim from the Republic of Korea. 

Veronika Major from Hungary won Gold in 25m Pistol Women. It’s her second World Cup Gold medal this year. 

Silver medal was won by Yaxuan Xiong from the People’s Republic of China.

Chia Chen Tien from the Chinese Taipei took a bronze medal after the final.

In the last competition of the day, 10m Air Pistol Men, Quota Places were also were awarded after the qualification stage of the competition and before the start of the final. Both of the Olympic Quotas were won by shooters from Turkey, Ismail Keles and Yusuf Dikec. 

Abhishek Verma from India won Gold medal in this event. It’s his second Gold medal in a Wold Cup this year, as was the case for Veronika Major.

Ismail Keles from Turkey won Silver. 

Another Indian shooter, Chaudhary Saurabh won Bronze.

Competition will continue tomorrow with the 10m Air Rifle Men.

This is the last World Cup stage of 2019 events in Rifle/Pistol.
