The IOC Executive Board approves the program of the Paris 2024

The IOC Executive Board has announced the event program for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Based on recommendations of the Olympic Program Commission and Rule 45 of the Olympic Charter the IOC Executive Board reduced the overall number of athletes up to 10 500 including those in any new sports. 

As IOC Executive Board emphasized, reducing of athletes is focused on those sports that could best stay the reduction without significantly loosing their universality, value, and standards of competition. In Shooting sport reduction amounts to 20 participants - up to 340.

 

The IOC Executive Board has included into the Paris 2024 the Skeet Mixed Team event as replacement of the Trap Mixed Team event which will be presented in the Tokyo 2020 program while the ISSF informed the IOC Executive Board that the most of the ISSF Executive Committee members, members of the Athletes Committee and Shotgun Committee were in favor of the Skeet Mixed Team to be included into the 2024 Games program.

 

The IOC Executive Board confirmed a term to finalize the competition format proposal by May 31st, 2021.

The Qualification System principles for the 2024 Olympic Games will be approved by the IOC Executive Board by September 2021, after that the ISSF will determine the Qualification System for Shooting Sport and will send it to the IOC Executive Board for approval in February 2022.
