Greece, Czech Republic and Austria win first World Championship medals

The ISSF Junior World Championship Rifle / Pistol / Shotgun continues in Lima, Peru until October 10.

Today, athletes competed for medals in the Skeet Mixed Team Junior event. In the Gold medal match, the Italians BONGINI Sara and GHILLI Cristian were more precise and won the Gold. The Italian athletes also set a world junior record in qualification. ISLAI Etienne-Cristian and ISLAI Raveca-Maria won Silver. FRANTZESKAKIS Nikolaos and KATZOURAKI Emmanouela from Greece won Bronze and brought their country the first medal of this competition.

 

In the 50m Rifle Prone Men Junior, the best result in qualification was shown by HAMMERL Soma Richard from Hungary. Second place went to PRIVRATSKY Jiri from Czech Republic. This is also the Czech Republic's first medal at the competition. The Bronze medalist was BRAUN Max from Germany.

 

German athlete ANSSEN Anna won the 50m Rifle Prone Women Junior. The second was TUCKER Mary Carolynn from USA. The first medal for Austria was won by WAIBEL Sheileen, who was the Third.

 

Tomorrow the athletes will compete for medals in the 25m Pistol Women Junior and 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior events. The live streaming will be available on the ISSF Internet resources.
