The ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol continues in Cairo, Egypt. Today, athletes competed for medals in 6 events at once and completed the program in 10 meters.
The tough fight for Gold was in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team. Jeanette Hegg DUESTAD and Jon-Hermann HEGG from Norway did not want to concede the victory to Sofia CECCARELLO and Danilo Dennis SOLLAZZO from Italy. The Norwegian athletes won in a bitter struggle, the Italians the took second place. Bronze medals were won by Teodora VUKOJEVIC and Milutin STEFANOVIC from Serbia, Valentina GUSTIN and Petar GORSA from Croatia.
Zorana ARUNOVIC and Damir MIKEC from Serbia with Yasemin Beyza YILMAZ and Ismail KELES from Turkey showed a brilliant performance in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team. More precisely, there were Serbs ARUNOVIC and MIKEC. Turkish athletes won the Silver and brought the first medal for their team. Andrea Katharina HECKNER and Robin WALTER from Germany, Anna KORAKAKI and Dionysios KORAKAKIS from Greece rounded out the top three and won Bronze awards.
In 10m Air Rifle Team Men, athletes from Croatia won their first Gold at these competitions. Miran MARICIC, Petar GORSA, Borna PETANJEK defeated Italian Danilo Dennis SOLLAZZO, Lorenzo BACCI, Riccardo ARMIRAGLIO in Gold Medal Match. Filip NEPEJCHAL, Ales ENTRICHEL, Jiri PRIVRATSKY from Czech Republic took the third place.
Gold in 10m Air Rifle Team Women was won by athletes from Hungary - Gitta BAJOS, Eszter DENES, Eszter MESZAROS. Second place went to Jeanette Hegg DUESTAD, Jenny STENE, Mari Bardseng LOVSETH from Norway. Xiu Yi HO, Qian Xiu Adele TAN, Fernel Qian Ni TAN from Singapore took third place and brought the first medal for their country at the competition in Cairo.
Robin WALTER from Germany, who took silver today in the Mixed Team event, showed the best result in the 10m Air Pistol Team Men with Michael SCHWALD and Philipp GRIMM. Silver went to Serdar DEMIREL, Ismail KELES, Yusuf DIKEC from Turkey. Bronze - to Italians Luca TESCONI, Alessio TORRACCHI, Paolo MONNA.
Indian Ruchita VINERKAR, Esha SINGH, Shri Nivetha PARAMANANTHAM took Gold in 10m Air Pistol Team Women. Andrea Katharina HECKNER, Carina WIMMER, Sandra REITZ from Germany won Silver. Bronze medal took Chia Ying WU, Chia Chen TIEN, Ai Wen YU from Chinese Taipei.
