Jeanette Hegg Duestad leads Norway to First Place in Medal Standing in Cairo

The ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol continues in Cairo, Egypt and today athletes competed for medals in three more events.

 

Jeanette Hegg DUESTAD from Norway won Gold in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women. In the final, she was more accurate than italian Sofia CECCARELLO and Jenny STENE from Norway, who finished second and third respectively.

 

In 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team Men first place went to Thomas MATHIS, Gernot RUMPLER and Andreas THUM from Austria. Silver went to Jiri PRIVRATSKY, Petr NYMBURSKY and Filip NEPEJCHAL from the Czech Republic, bronze went to Ole Martin HALVORSEN, Henrik LARSEN and Jon-Hermann HEGG from Norway.

 

The first Gold medal for Slovenia came from Ziva DVORSAK, Urska KUHARIC and Klavdija JEROVSEK, who won in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team Women. In the Gold medal match, they defeated USA athletes Mary Carolynn TUCKER, Sagen MADDALENA and Katie Lorraine ZAUN, who finished second. Third place went to Franziska STARK, Chiara LEONE and Nina CHRISTEN from Switzerland.

 

Tomorrow athletes will finish their participation in 50m Rifle 3 positions and 25m Pistol Women with events 50m Rifle 3 Positions Mixed Team and 25m Pistol Team Women. Men will compete for medals in the Olympic event, 25m Rapid Fire Pistol. Online streaming is available on the ISSF internet resources.
