India takes first place in the Medal Standing in Cairo

On the final day of the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol in Cairo, Egypt, athletes competed for medals in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol events.

 

In 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Team Men won Christian REITZ, Oliver GEIS and Florian PETER from Germany. In the Gold Medal match, they were more accurate than Anish ANISH, Gurpreet SINGH and Bhavesh SHEKHAWAT from India. Bronze went to Martin STRNAD, Martin PODHRASKY and Tomas TEHAN from the Czech Republic.

 

Athletes from India Rhythm SANGWAN and Anish ANISH won Gold in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Mixed Team. Second place went to Chawisa PADUKA and Ram KHAMHAENG from Thailand, and third place went to Shun Xie TEO and Swee Hon LIM from Singapore.

 

More than 500 athletes from 64 countries took part in the competition. The first place in the Medal Standing was taken by India with 7 medals (4 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), the second by Norway with 6 medals (3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze), the third by France with 3 gold medals.
