New victories in Granada

ISSF Grand Prix 10/25/50m/Shotgun · Granada, ESP

The ISSF Grand Prix Rifle/ Pistol/ Shotgun takes place in Granada, Spain.

Today athletes competed for medals in 5 events. Athletes from Great Britain and Cyprus brought their first awards to their teams.

 

Jeanette Hegg DUESTAD from Norway won the second Gold in individual event at these competitions. In the fight for the Gold, she was more accurate than the Italian Barbara GAMBARO. Sagen MADDALENA from USA took third place.

 

Norway also won the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team Men. Ole Martin HALVORSEN, Henrik LARSEN and Jon-Hermann HEGG were more accurate than the Americans Patrick SUNDERMAN, Ivan ROE and Timothy SHERRY who took the Silver.

 

In 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team Women Gold went to Barbara GAMBARO, Sofia CECCARELLO and Nicole GABRIELLI from Italy. In the Gold Medal Match they defeated Agnieszka NAGAY, Aleksandra SZUTKO and Katarzyna KOMOROWSKA from Poland. Third place went to Jeanette Hegg DUESTAD, Jenny STENE and Tonje ENGEVIK from Norway.

 

Victoria LARSSON from Sweden showed the best result in Skeet Women. Silver and Bronze were won by Alexandra Anne SKEGGS from Great Britain and Anastasia ELEFTHERIOU from Cyprus, respectively, and they received first medals for their teams.

 

In Skeet Men, an athlete from Sweden also won. Stefan NILSSON showed the best result both in qualification and in the final. Second and third places were taken by athletes from Great Britain Michael GILLIGAN and Arran Colin ECCLESTON.
