Wang pocketed 50m Pistol Men Gold placing China atop of the overall medal standings

In the last competition day of the 2013 ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup in Munich, Germany, Wang Zhiwei secured the 50m Pistol Men title, giving the People's Republic of China the first place in the overall medal standings.

Wang Zhiwei, 25, won today's 50m Pistol Men medal match, the last Pistol round of the ISSF World Cup Final in Munich, Germany.

 

With 194.3 points, the Chinese shooter defeated his Japanese opponents Tomoyuki Matsuda, the 37-year old reigning world champion, who eventually scored 191.4 points to secure the Silver. The Bronze medal went to the Olympic Champion of London 2012, Korea's Jin Jongoh, who landed in third place with 169.5 points.

 

By winning the title, Wang propelled China atop of the medal standings, overtaking Italy in terms of number of Gold medals.

 

The People's Republic of China team won finished indeed the 2013 ISSF World Cup Final in the lead, with a total of 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze, for a total of 9 medals.

 

Italy followed in second securing 3 Gold and 1 Silver, while the host country, Germany, placed in third with 1 Gold and 2 Bronze medals.
