52nd ISSF World Championship All Events · Changwon, KOR

The two Korean shooters — who entered the final with the highest qualification score — bested the second Korean team in the match, shooting a new Junior World Record to win the world title at the 52nd ISSF World Championship in Changwon (KOR).

At the 52nd ISSF World Championship in all events, 17-year-old Choo Gaeun and 18-year-old Sung Yunho of the Republic of Korea secured the gold medal with the record score of 483.0 points, breaking the previous Junior World Record of 480.7 set by team Russian Federation’s Lana Enina and Anton Aristarkhov at last February’s European Championship in Gyor (HUN).

After an average start, Choo and Sung performed impressively since the second 5-shot series, constantly increasing their gap and keeping the top position until the end of the match.

Finishing with a sizeable gap of 9.9 points, the duo bested the second Korean team — featuring 19-year-old Yoo Hyunyoung and 17-year-old Lim Hojin — who scored 473.1 points. India’s 19-year-old Abhidnya Ashok Patil and 16-year-old Chaudhary Saurabh completed the podium in the 3rd place, scoring 407.3 points.

Russian Federation’s Nadezhda Koloda (18) and Anton Aristarkhov (19) concluded in 4th position with 366.2 points, while the second Indian team Devanshi Rana (19) and Anmol Anmol (19) were the first duo eliminated from the final and took 5th place with the score of 324.9 points.
