The ISSF is reminding all athletes that this is the last chance to sign up for media training organised by our team.
Our pilot scheme, announced last month, will support all athletes interesting in enhancing their skills in front of the microphone and through their online presence.
The programme, organised by the ISSF media team in association with the ISSF Academy, consists of two modules, with the first of these taking place online on October 29 at 15:00 CET. This will be followed by an invitational module in Cairo during the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol.
Module 1 will be introduced by Head of Communications, Nick Davies; Head of Media Relations and Operations, and presented by Juliana Daguano; and Social Media Manager, Andreas Georgiou. They will be joined by special guest, Amlan Chakraborty, Senior Sports Correspondent at Reuters.
Davies and Daguano will focus on an Introduction to Media Relations and Crafting Your Message, covering topics such as understanding the media landscape, recognising different media formats and journalist expectations, learning how to efficient create media engagement and making clear, compelling messages.
Georgiou will cover Social Media & Branding, helping athletes build and maintain and strong online presence, create engaging content for different platforms and manage online criticism professionally.
Module 2, set to take place in Cairo, will be presented by ISSF Announcer and Commentator, Jamie Stangroom. In this module, he will interview athletes and provide them live feedback on where they can improve. He will provide them advice on mastering verbal and non-verbal communication, remaining composed and confident during interviews, and handling difficult and unexpected questions.
