The first final of the ISSF World Cup in Munich started with the exciting final of the 50m Pistol Men, which ended in a shoot-off for first place between Boris Kokorev, 46, from Russia and Zhongzai Lin, 23, from China.

After Lin had lost the remarkable advantage of three points of the qualification round during the final and Kokorev exactly managed to make up that difference, the Olympic Gold medallist of Atlanta 1996 Kokorev and Lin, the Gold medallist of the ISSF World Cup in Munich this year met in a shoot- off for first place. After Lin fired first, shooting a 7.1, Kokrev took everybody’s breath away by waiting extremely long for his shoot-off shot. Not good but good enough to win the first place Kokorev won the shoot-off and the Gold medal with a 7.9. “To hear the results being announced made me calculate and it was hard to keep the nerves. There were so many spectators and it did not turn out as I wanted”, said Kokorev after being asked what went through his mind during the shoot-off. In third place of the 50m Final followed Kokorev’s team mate Vladimir Isakov, 35.Isakov, who had qualified for this ISSF World Cup final in Munich with his second place at the this year’s first ISSF World Cup in Changwon kept his third position after the qualification and won Bronze.
