Junghaenel wins Germany’s second rifle gold medal of the week at the Olympic Shooting Centre

The German athlete wins the 50m Rifle Prone Men final, securing the second rifle medal for his country after the success of Barbara Engleder at yesterday’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women event.

Henri Junghaenel, ISSF Shooter of the Year in 2013, secured his fourth World Cup Gold medal in the Rifle Prone event in Rio de Janeiro, prevailing over Australia’s Warren Potent, the winner of the Gold medal at last month’s World Cup stage in Bangkok (THA).

Rossi (ITA) and Junghaenel (GER) elected 2013 Shooters of the Year

Jessica Rossi (Trap women - Italy) and Henri Junghaenel (Rifle men – Germany) have been elected as the 2013 Shooters of the Year by the members of the ISSF Athletes Committee and of the ISSF Coaches Advisory Committee and by a panel of international sport journalist.


Two German shooters climbed up the 50m Rifle Prone Men podium

Junghaenel won the last event of the 2013 ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Final in Munich, winning in front of his home supporters. His teammate Brodmeier nailed the Bronze medal, while Silver went to the Slovenian Olympics Bronze medallist Rajmond Debevec.

Germany's Junghaenel won the Gold Medal for both 50m Rifle Prone and 50m Rifle 3 Positions. “Shooting is a great psychological practice”, he said.

Henri Junghaenel made it again.The 25-year old German shooter made it to podium of the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men event, the last match of the 2013 ISSF World Cup in Changwon, Korea, pocketing his second Gold medal after his victory at the 50m Rifle Prone men final, three days ago.
