For the first time ever, ISSF will stage an exciting Run & Shoot Event next June the 16th, during the International Junior Competition in Suhl, Germany. This “Sports for All” discipline is a perfect combination of Air Rifle target shooting and middle distance running.

Germany’s Suhl Shooting Range as well as the International Junior Competition hosted there each year are well known hotspots for sport shooters from across the world. This year, the International Shooting Sport Federation is proud to bring an exciting innovative competition to Suhl: the 1st ISSF “Run & Shoot” Even, a sport format which combines Air Rifle target shooting with running, and which was developed to appeal young athletes, as remarked by the ISSF President Olegario Vázquez Raña and by the ISSF Secretary General Franz Schreiber.

Also athletes of the International Junior Competition are most welcome to participate in the ISSF Run and Shoot event. On Friday, 15th June 2012 athletes participating in the International Junior Competition will be offered the special chance to test their physical fitness with this new Sport for All discipline, starting from 13:30.

No entry fees will be charged for this event. The event will be conducted in four age categories for male and female athletes, with age groups starting with 14 and under students and continuing to 21 and older seniors. For all of them a five-stage-track is foreseen with varying running distances between 400m and 600m. In between Air Rifle shooting in prone and / or standing position (depending on the age category) is mandatory.
