France's Goberville finished atop of the scoreboard as her two opponents Tien Chia Chen and Kousnetsova fired two 8s placing themselves in second and third place

Celine Goberville, 27, from France, won the 10m Air Pistol Women final at the 2014 ISSF World Cup in Beijing, China – the last world cup leg of the year before the ISSF World Cup Finals, that will take place in Gabala, Azerbaijan, the next October.

The 2012 Olympic Silver medallist scored 201.1 points, to beat Chinese Taipei's Tien Chia Chen, 30, who pocketed the Silver with 200.3 points after firing a disappointing 8.3 on her 20th shot.

Also Russia's Olga Kousnetsova, 45, lost her chances to step atop of the podium due to a frustrating 8.1 shot, and waled out of the match with the Bronze medal and a final score of 178.9 points.

Goberville came back atop of an ISSF podium four years after her last victory (2010 ISSF World Cup in Belgrade), and two years after her last podium placement (2012 ISSF World Cup Final in Bangkok, Bronze).

“This medal came unexpected. I am really happy.” Goberville said after the final.

“I did not expect to win in the 10m Air Pistol event. I was bit stressed during the whole match, especially during the final round. But luckily I managed to control my emotions, I zeroed in and I followed my routine.” She added.

“This results pays off all the work I had done this year. I have been participating in the last world cup in Munich and I have been training a lot both in Air Pistol and in Sport Pistol after that, before coming here to Beijing.”

“The final goal of the season is the ISSF World Championship, no doubts.” The winner said.

Korea's Jung Hye Kwak, 27, followed the medallist taking the fourth place with 159.1 points while participating in her first international final round. She preceded the Chinese medal hope Guo Wenjun, a two-time Olympic Champion (Beijing 2008 and London 2012) and currently ranked second in the world, who closed the match in fifth place with 138.7 points deluding the numerous Chinese supporters crowding Beijing's final hall.

The two Russian teammates Natalia Paderina and Margarita Semenova followed in sixth and seventh place with 116.0 and 96.2 points, respectively, while the three-time Olympic Bronze medallist Maria Grozdeva of Bulgaria closed the match in eighth and last place with 76.2 points.
