The 2010 Youth Olympic Champion and 2012 Olympic Champion Kim pocketed an important Gold medal, in the lead up to the 51st ISSF World Championship.

The 2012 Olympic Champion Kim Jangmi of Korea (21) won the 25m Pistol Women event, beating the first-time finalist Thai shooter Naphaswan Yangpaiboon in the Gold medal match at the 2014 ISSF World Cup in Beijing (CHN).

The Korean champion made it through the semi-final with 14 hits, and passed through a shoot-off to access the Gold medal match. There, she outscored her Thai opponent 8 to 2 points, securing her second ISSF World Cup Gold medal in career, in this event.

“Somehow it's scaring to be up against somebody completely new, it's certainly more difficult than shooting next to somebody you know.” Kim said. “I was feeling really nervous at the beginning of the match. But series after series I calmed down, and I made it.”

“It feels great to win Gold here in China, the country with the best shooters of the world.” She added.

“I am preparing for the Asian Games and for the World Championship, which are the two big events in front of us.”

Today's Bronze medal went to the Chinese shooter Zhan Jingling, the ISSF World Cup title holder, who scored 14 hits in the semi-final and then lost the shoot-off against Kim and Yangpaiboon, finishing in the Bronze medal match. There, she outdid Russia's Alena Suslonova 8 to 2 points, pocketing her third Bronze medal of the season after the world cup stages in Fort Benning and Munich.
