Skeet Men Day 1

Men's Skeet Qualification, Day 1: Hancock (USA) and Terras (FRA) take lead with 75 hits each

ISSF World Championship Shotgun · Lonato, ITA

USA's Hancock and France's Terras are atop the standings after three of five rounds in the men's Skeet qualification, which started today in Lonato.

Vincent Hancock, America's Olympic Champion, and Anthony Terras, an Olympic Bronze for France, hit all of their targets today and took a joint lead in the first day of qualifications for the men's skeet at the 2015 ISSF Shotgun World Championship in Lonato, Italy.

Hancock, 28, and Terras, 30, hit 75 targets each in today's three qualification rounds. They were the only athletes who did not miss any target.

Earlier this season, Hancock has already won two gold medals - at the World Cup stages in Acapulco and Gabala. Terras has won one: in Al Ain.
Hitting just one target less than the leaders, seven shooters closed in a tie with 74 hits - Germany's Ralf Buchheim, Denmark's Jesper Hansens, Egypt's Azmy Mehelba, Italy's Gabriele Rossetti, Guatemala's Juan Schaeffer, Argentina's Federico Gil, India's Mairaj Khan.

Two of these athletes have already won medals in the current season. Stepping up to the same podium as Terras's, Hansen won a silver in Al Ain. Rossetti won a bronze last month in Gabala (his first World Cup medal as a senior).

Taking 10th place in today's qualification rounds was Chile's Nicolas Massoud Buschmann.
The men's Skeet will be back tomorrow. The fourth and fifth rounds will conclude the qualification process from 9 am to 4 pm (GMT +2). At 5:15 pm, the final will start.

Tomorrow will be the World Championship's closing day. Follow it live on our website, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram pages.
