ISSF World Championship Running Target · Suhl, GER

Kizyma, who was in 2nd place after the 30 Slow Run shots, prevailed over So Kwang of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, who slipped from the 1st to the 8th place. Russian Federation’s Valerii Davydov claimed the Silver medal, while the Bronze went to Germany’s Kris Grossheim.

Today’s 50m Running Target Men Junior event saw Ukraine’s 19-year-old Ihor Kizyma climb on the highest step of the podium, besting his opponents with a 584 points score and claiming his first World Championship Gold medal, three years after he secured the Junior European title in this event in the very same range.

“I am pretty happy of this Junior title.” Said Kizyma right after the podium celebrations. “I shot the 10m event in Granada in 2014, but this is my favourite event. And even if in Spain I participated as a senior, I will compete as a junior for one more season.” He concluded.

Valerii Davydov of the Russian Federation pocketed the World Championship Silver medal, the first of his young career, as he added 286 Fast Run points to the 294 he scored in the Slow Run part of the match, jumping from the 4th to the 2nd place.

Germany’s Kris Grossheim also performed a remarkable comeback, climbing up from yesterday’s 7th place to today’s 3rd, where he pocketed the Bronze medal with 577 total points.

So Kwang of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, who was leading the match after the 30 Slow Run shots, finished in 8th place with a total score of 574 points.

On the teams podium, Germany claimed the 1st place with Grossheim, Torsten Fass and Felix Hoernig, who totalled 1706 points. The Silver medals went to the Russian Federation’s Davydov, Iaroslav Klepikov and Sergei Smirnov, who scored 1695 points, followed in 3rd place by France with Nicolas Tranchant, Eric Schuler and Fabien Le Brun, who recorded 1673 points.
