Rio 2016: Trap Men event intermediate results and preview

Italy’s Fabbrizi leads the pack with a perfect score of 75 hits our 75 targets. Tomorrow: 50 more qualification targets and the finals at 15.00.

London 2012’s Olympic Silver medalist Massimo Fabbrizi of Italy leads the men’s Trap qualifications after the first competition day. The Italian athlete shot three perfect rounds, shuttering 75 out of 75 targets.


Fabbrizi is followed by Edward Ling of Great Britain and by his teammate Giovanni Pelleilo (73 targets), the team’s veteran who is competing in his seventh Olympics with two Olympic Silver and one Bronze won between 2000 and 2008 shining in his medals showcase.

 

Croatia’s Josip Glasnovic and the 2008 Olympic Champion David Kostelecky of the Czech Republic ranke in fourth and fifth place, with a score of 72 hits out of 75 targets at the end of the completion day.

The athletes will have to shoot 50 more targets tomorrow, Monday 8 August. The best 6 will then advance to the semi-final, to be held at 15.00 (UTC-3). The medal matches will follow immediately after.
