ISSF Academy C Course for Int. Coaches License closed in Finland

The C-License course is the first of the ISSF Academy's international licenses and marks the first step to an internationally recognized coaching license. The course has been designed to provide the coach with a wide understanding of the role of coaching and the skills required to work at a national and international level.

The latest ISSF Academy C Course for International Coaches License has successfully been completed at the ISSF Academy Accredited Training Centre in Kuortane, Finland.

The course, which commenced on the 24rd of March and concluded on the 29th of March, saw twenty coaches being put through an intensive series of workshops and lectures, culminating in a series of examinations which tested their sport science and shooting science knowledge.

A wide selection of member federations were represented across all of the three shooting disciplines. Coaches from the USA, Iran and India made the jour to Finland to pursue their goal of achieving the highly sought after C Coaches License.

Head Tutor of the ISSF Academy, Dr. Kevin Kilty spoke highly of the quality of the participants. ”The C Course continues to grow in importance for many of our member federations and their coaches.” He said. “The dedication and commitment shown by the students here, this week, leaves me in no doubt that we have a good future in coaching and our athletes will have the benefit of well trained and experienced coaches with whom to work with.”

“I believe what the Academy is doing is great for our sport, the course was excellent and I’m delighted to be here and to give something back to my sport.” said Stevan Pletikosic (SRB), a participant on the course.
